Polish Africa Update - Source of Blessings Completes Their First Round of Training

Due to your generosity, we have raised enough money to sponsor Source of Blessings, a group of 23 women in Rwanda.

Friday, July 22nd was the last day of the Source of Blessings group micro-business conference in Ruhengeri, Rwanda.  It was a fantastic week of training and relationship building with a wonderful group of women. All week, they were encouraged to work well together, to love one another and serve one another because together they are more powerful than alone.  Alivera (ALARM-Rwanda's Women Coordinator) taught on Jesus washing the feet of the disciples. The four training facilitators (Katherine Holloway, Fidelis Karanja, Chantell Tibbets & Kristen Stevens) washed the feet of 4 of the women.  They in turn washed the feet of 4 other women until all women's feet had been washed.  Some of the women cried because they never imagined anyone would ever wash their feet.  This brought the women closer together as they saw Hutu's washing the feet of Tutsi's, Baptists washing the feet of Catholics, Anglicans washing the feet of Muslims, Pentecostals washing the feet of Seventh Day Adventists, etc.

Alivera also demonstrate a new skill so that they can use to raise additional money to expand their businesses. She showed them how to tie & dye cloth.  Below are examples of beautiful patterns and colors.  The ladies are very excited to try this new skill. In fact, they were very eager to begin to apply all their newly learned skills this week!
